DNS (Domain Name System) records are the public instructions that tell the internet how to route traffic for a domain — which mail servers handle its email, which IP addresses its website points to, and how third-party services are authorised to act on its behalf. This tool queries live DNS records for any domain directly from your browser, using the same public DNS-over-HTTPS infrastructure trusted providers like Cloudflare run.

How to use this tool

  1. Enter a domain name (e.g. wuluf.com) into the box above.
  2. Choose the record type you want to check — A, MX, TXT, CNAME, NS or AAAA.
  3. Click Lookup. Results appear within a second or two, pulled live from the domain's DNS.

Understanding your results

Each record type tells you something different: A records map a domain to an IPv4 address; AAAA does the same for IPv6. MX records show which mail servers handle email for the domain. TXT records hold arbitrary text — commonly used for domain verification, SPF and DMARC. CNAME records alias one domain name to another. NS records show which nameservers are authoritative for the domain.

Frequently asked questions

What is a DNS record?

A DNS record is a line of configuration published in the Domain Name System that tells other computers how to interact with a domain — for example, which server hosts its website or handles its email. Records are public by design; anyone can query them, which is exactly what this tool does.

Why would I need to look up DNS records?

Common reasons include troubleshooting email delivery problems, verifying a domain migration completed correctly, checking whether a TXT record (like SPF or a verification code) has propagated, or simply auditing a domain's public configuration before making changes.

Does this tool store my searches?

No. Every lookup happens live, directly from your browser to a public DNS resolver. Nothing you search is logged or stored by Wuluf.
